Whew! The ten-day manhunt involving Alabama murder fugitive Casey White and corrections officer Vicky White has resulted in one dead and the other behind bars. The two, reportedly romantically linked, had everyone searching for them after a viral video showed Vicky releasing Casey from his cell at Lauderdale County Detention Center on April 29th. Vicky pulled a fast one on authorities and didn’t have to try hard to pull Casey out of his cell. Get this, CNN reports she advised the detention staff that Casey was due in court for a mental health evaluation that never was scheduled.

Many people were looking for the pair in hopes of gaining the $15,000.00 reward. However, a tipster contacted the U.S. Marshals about the pair being at an Evansville, IN hotel. However, the two didn’t go out without a fight! About fifteen Marshals chased the fugitives, and a task force member drove a vehicle into the Cadillac that Vicky was driving. During the chase, the 56-year-old sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Sheriff Dave Wedding of Vanderburgh County explained, “She is in pretty serious shape at the time of the shooting. It’s hard to believe they’ve been here that many days, but we’re lucky that we stumbled upon them today.” He also clarified that law enforcement officers did not fire any shots at the fugitives. Two hours later, it was revealed that Vicky had succumbed to her injury.
