Hofstra vs. Arkansas prediction: Go with the Pride

Former Hofstra and NBA guard Speedy Claxton is in his first year as the head coach of the Pride and will look to make the school’s alumni proud on Saturday as the team goes to Little Rock to face Arkansas.

Arkansas’ defense has done a good job of holding opponents to just one opportunity per possession. Razorbacks foes are rebounding just 16.7 percent of their misses, which ranks fifth in the country.

Hofstra will look to win from the outside. The Pride are getting 40.7 percent of their points from made 3-pointers, which ranks 27th in the country, while the Razorbacks are 315th in the country in 3-point shooting percentage at 28.6 percent.

The Arkansas defense is allowing opponents to make 37.3 percent of their 3-pointers and 42 percent of the points the Razorbacks allow are from made 3-pointers, the sixth-highest rate among Division I schools.

Hofstra also has done a good job of taking care of the ball, committing a turnover on 14.4 percent of its possessions, which ranks 15th in the country and will give them a chance to take down Arkansas on Saturday.

The play: Hofstra, spread.
