The price of cryptocurrency Shiba Inu has skyrocketed in recent days – so, what is it and who’s its founder, Ryoshi?
The meme-inspired crypto has seen its value rise 777 percent in 30 days, according to reports.
Who is Shiba Inu founder Ryoshi
Ryoshi’s identity has remained somewhat of a mystery and in a blog post, the founder calls himself “a nobody”.
Accompanied by a picture of a fisherman throwing his net into the water, Ryoshi – which means fisherman in Japanese – writes: “I have said from the beginning, I am a nobody, I am not important.”
“The efforts to unmask my ‘identity’ even if successful would be underwhelming. I am just some guy of no consequence tapping at a keyboard and I am replaceable. I am Ryoshi.”
Ryoshi said the crypto token was “a gift to yourself” that is supposed to help in the “process of self-actualization realized through the playing field of blockchain”.
The post reads: “With Shiba, we have from the beginning made very clear that no-one is in charge. There is no man accountable, no person responsible and no entity has the keys to the kingdom.
“The end result of this is that you are responsible.”
When was Shiba Inu created?
Since then, the parody crypto has shot up in value, according to Fortune.
In the past few days, the price of Shiba has surged 32% to $0.00006252, according to CoinMarketCap.
The new record comes after it hit another all-time high of $0.00004948 on Tuesday.
What could Ryoshi’s net worth be?
Regardless, it doesn’t seem money is Ryoshi’s main concern.
He writes: “My job, my job is to defend the line and the brand. From the beginning, it is always the same.
“SHIBA is SHIBA. that is all. Anybody who comes and honors the Shiba walks equal with me.
“Anybody who comes and attempts to leech from the Shiba is a scammer and placed into exile.”
They add: “Blockchain belongs to us. As the Shiba army, we are an organic organism, greater than any one man, movement or even nation-state.
“I give you this end vision. Now build towards it.”
