“Ever Heard Of Salem, Wisconsin?” Well Abel Is Here To Change That

Chances are you never heard of Salem, Wisconsin, but all of that is about to change. Thissomebull.com would like to introduce you to Abel, ½ of the recently formed collective known to the world as Camini. Connecting with Detroit talent, Tre Nino, the pair set out to make music history. The self-taught producer, engineer is ready to let the release his offering to the universe. Thissomebull.com had the opportunity to sit with Abel and learn more about him and Camini.

TSB: Introduce yourself to our readers.

Abel: What’s up guys I just want to say thank you for letting us be a part of this and thank you to everyone who is tuning in. My name is Abel and I’m an artist, songwriter, producer, engineer from Salem, Wisconsin and ½ of Camini.

TSB: Tell me about growing up in the Mid-West?

Abel: Where I’m from is a small town on the border of Wisconsin and Illinois. It’s a slow-paced quiet town to grow up in. More corn fields than buildings but it was only 45 min away from Milwaukee and an hour from Chicago so if I wanted to go to the city, it was an easy drive. I lived a normal childhood, running around the neighborhood playing sports and games with my friends. My parents did a good job of making sure me and my siblings had something to do.

TSB: What inspired you to become an artist?

Abel: Honestly the whole “rockstar/rapper” lifestyle was appealing to me when I was growing up and the more, I listened and studied music the more I fell in love with the process of it. It really happened my freshman year of high school in 2009 when I really started listening to hip-hop and R&B. That next year I figured out who Mac Miller was and went to my first few concerts. Since then, I’ve always thought to myself “if they can do it, why can’t I”.

TSB: When did you decide to become an engineer?

Abel:  In 2016 when I started studying audio production in Milwaukee. I wanted to make my own songs but got tired of using YouTube beats and recording myself in GarageBand. And I also wanted to be in control of my own sound, so I started recording myself and making beats.

TSB: What are you currently working on?

Abel: Camini just finished an amazing project that is gonna be out before the end of summer. I’m excited for everyone to hear that but I’m also working on 2 other solo projects. Aiming to drop 1 later this year and if everything goes as planned another project next summer.

TSB: Thank you for taking out the time to sit with us, do you have any links or contact information that you would like to share.
