COOL, COCKY, CONFIDENT, The Best Way To Describe, T-Henn

Being cool has always been an art, you know that one person that’s just, well cool. The type of person that so smart it’s cool, the same type of person that’s so talented, it’s cool. That person is T-Henn, the west side Detroit native has always been that cool person. Equipped with the confidence it takes to claim the throne in the rap world, some may take it as him being cocky. Thissomebull.com recently spoke to T-Henn about his latest works of art, and future plans.

TSB: Could you introduce yourself to our readers.

T-Henn: I go by T-Henn. I am a hip hop artist born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  I pride myself on being a cool, laid-back guy, but most importantly a grateful and blessed individual.

TSB: Talk to me about growing up in Detroit.

T-Henn: Growing up in Detroit was cool.  Grew up in a household with just me and my mom.  Never met my father and I had no siblings.  Detroit is a place of style, full of go getters.  I stayed on the Westside/Southwest part of Detroit.  I have great fond memories of being with my family (grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins) and being molded, motivated, and inspired by them.

TSB: You were four sport high school athlete and honor student, tell me about those years of your life.

T-Henn: I went to Western International High School.  My high school years were fun.  My mother prided herself on keeping me involved in extracurricular activities and also was serious about me doing my best in school academically.  I played basketball, ran cross country, track & field, and also played men’s volleyball my sophomore and junior year. I had All-City honors in basketball and track & field. I graduated with a 3.90 G.P.A. and was Salutatorian. Academics always came a little easy to me as I had good grades in elementary and middle school.   My high school years are important to my maturity and growth as a man and my level of confidence.

TSB: You started to take rap serious in your late teens, what made you want to rap?

T-Henn: What made me want to rap was the love for hip hop at an early age.  I used to watch music videos all the time as a kid.  Growing up I was good with words, so by the time I reached my late teens my confidence grew, and I began to rap with some homies from college as it had been on my heart for a long time, I just always kept it to myself.

TSB: COOL, COCKY, CONFIDENT, what do those words mean to you?

T-Henn: Cool Cocky Confident is my brand.  I feel its positive affirmations.  It’s designed for you to think highly of yourself.  I feel these are 3 characteristics that every individual possess in some shape or form.  When you see, hear, or say Cool Cocky Confident, I want it to make you proud of the reflection you see in the mirror.   BELIEVE IN YOU!  “Cool Cocky Confident the Motto, Peace Money Love the Message!”

TSB: Your latest project, “BIGGIE MEAL: Food 4 Thought” was recently released, tell me about that project.

T-Henn: “BiGGiE Meal: Food 4 Thought”, is an EP I collaborated on with a talented producer JRGotTheHiTS.  We decided on a 4-song project using one of Notorious BIG (Biggie Smalls) iconic lines, “T-bone steak, cheese eggs and Welch’s grape. We released the project on May 21st, which would have been Biggie’s 50th birthday.  It reflects on where I see myself going musically and in life.  It touches on some elements of history and who we are as a people, where we come from, and what we are experiencing in the world today.   It’s a lyrically clever, fun, and cool body of work.  I had a great time making this EP.

TSB: What else are you working on?

T-Henn: I am currently working on a lot of music.  I have about 40 to 50 songs I made over this past year. Some will be singles; some will go on projects and concepts I’m continuing to create.  My focus has been getting better at the craft and growing as an artist, all while working on my mind, body and spirit.  I believe people will love the music and see my growth!
