The New York City Police Department has ended their day-long manhunt for Frank James, the 62-year-old man suspected of shooting ten people on a subway train in Brooklyn on Tuesday. According to CNN, Frank was previously named as a person of interest and was arrested by patrol officers in New York’s East Village neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon.

Updated information about the victims involved shows the shooting left 29 people injured, including 10 who were shot. Thankfully none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening, officials said. Five of the victims were young adults commuting to school, says New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

According to NBC News, Frank is considered a suspect due to social media posts where he shared videos of himself expressing bigoted views, violence, and criticism of Mayor Eric Adams’ policies. Specifically, those addressing public safety and homeless outreach on subways.

NBC News shows that one of the photos that NYPD police shared was a screenshot of a video from his YouTube channel, “prophet oftruth88.” However, the video, which was lengthy and filled with profanity while he ranted and expressed controversial views, has since been removed as of 12:45 p.m. Additional videos on the channel discussed talks about death, a race war, and the desire to exterminate certain groups of people.

The disturbing videos didn’t end there. In a post from April 6th, Frank said there need to be more mass shootings, claiming the problem wouldn’t be the shooter but rather the environment they exist in.

Just one day before the shooting, Frank said he had experienced the desire to kill people; however, he didn’t want to go to jail. In another video from March 18th, the alleged shooter claimed he had severe post-traumatic stress disorder. At this time, no bail information is available or formal charges.
